Possa il Corpo Vajra4 creato dalla purezza della luce chiara, libero dal sorgere e tramontare dell’esistenza ciclica, ma visibile allo spettatore comune solo nella sua esplicita forma fisica rimanere immutato, senza declino, fino alla fine del samsara5.
1 Lion Throne (Trono del Leone) è il termine inglese utilizzato per identificare il trono del Dalai Lama del Tibet. Si riferisce in particolare al trono storicamente utilizzato da Dalai Lamas a Potala Palace (Lhasa).
2 Butter-lamps: sono lampade caratteristiche nei templi tibetani e monasteri buddisti di tutto l’Himalaya. Le lampade tradizionalmente bruciano burro di yak chiarito, ma ora spesso usano olio o burro di origine vegetale.
3 Le otto preoccupazioni mondane (otto dharma mondani) sono: (1) Essere compiaciuti per i guadagni, (2) Essere dispiaciuti per le perdite, (3) Essere compiaciuti quando sperimentiamo piacere, (4) Essere dispiaciuti quando sperimentiamo sofferenza, (5) Essere compiaciuti per la buona reputazione, (6) Essere dispiaciuti per la cattiva reputazione, (7) Essere compiaciuti quando riceviamo lodi, (8) Essere dispiaciuti quando riceviamo critiche.
4 Vajra è un termine sanscrito che significa sia fulmine che diamante.
5 Samsara è un termine sanscrito con cui si indica la dottrina inerente al ciclo di vita, morte e rinascita. È talora raffigurato come una ruota.
